I poisoned myself.

Of cuz it was unplanned. I know i said something about spicing up my uni life but not like this. definitely not!

The initial plan was to have a nice breakfast, go to the state lib, head down to victoria market and back home for lunch, den back to the lib and to the fashion show at night.

Plans are merely words.

What actually happened:

I woke up late and i decided to bake. So i went to get the missing ingredients and started baking. From the mixture, i knew the end product would not be great. Just like what i've told everyone, i cant produce the same things twice. The first time i made with that recipe, it turned out fabulous. And that was it. I should have learnt by now not to get too complacent... but o well.. today, i nearly dug my own grave.

I was suffering from "Baking Powder Overdose". Sounds ridiculous? But it really ain't funny. I was tormented. My tummy ached like crazy and i felt so weak and cold. I vomited but since i hardly had anything, there wasn't much coming out. For an hour or so (i din check the clock), i was just hoping that the pain would go away but it became more intense. Since the natural way of not-doing-anything didn't work, i asked my housemate for panadol. And that did not help either. Den she asked me if i wanted to take some kinda seed (Tamil name is called "vaitheyam") which is good for stomach ache. Almost instantaneously, i felt much better. In fact, i think i've recovered.

I suspected that i must have poisoned myself with the uncooked mixture... after chatting with my housemate, she told me that baking powder is not good on empty stomach. so i went online to check and this is wad i found.

Baking Powder Overdose

Definition: This is poisoning from an overdose of baking powder.

Alternative Names: Sodium bicarbonate
Poisonous Ingredient: Sodium bicarbonate is the main ingredient of baking powder, which is generally considered to be non-toxic.
Where Found: Baking powder
Note: This list may not be all inclusive.
Symptoms: Thirst, Abdominal pain, Nausea, Vomiting (severe), Diarrhea (severe)

Although it is not the first time i've tasted uncooked mixture but i guess i added more baking powder than usual. so i guess this must be it. If it's not this, i dun have any other explanation.

While i was battling the pain, many thoughts came to my mind. hahaha... and one of them was.. I'm so glad that i dun live alone. So much for wanting to live alone.. and my parents actually told me that i'm not suitable to do that. And i hate it when they are right about it. I cant really take care of myself huh..? haha... it been true. Throughout the past few years here, i do have a group of friends who always came to my rescue and i'm really thankful and grateful for them.

i guess the thought of staying alone and baking will be placed on halt, for now...

random bubbles..

Winter is approaching.

The long sleeping hours, the growing appetite, the falling leaves and the slight dip in temperature reaffirm the impending change in season.

This will be my 5th winter. It sounds like a pretty long time. but.. what have i achieved?
am i a better person now?

Was kinda excited to learn about Sims University when i was back in Singapore and few weeks ago, i was quite eager to get my hands on it. But rather than controlling the Sim's uni life, i reflected on mine. No doubt i've experienced a couple of ups and downs. But, What can i do to spice up my Uni life? I've seen my friends photos taken overseas and they always seem to be having so much fun~. i am, also, given the opportunity to study overseas... there must be something i can do to make it a little more special. hmmmm???

I'm so glad to be in Melbourne.
Everything feels so right.
I cant imagine the day i have to leave this place "for good".
Even leaving it for a semester...
At the same time, i can let it hold me back.

Was watching Chris Daughtry on Youtube yesterday...
Even in Idol, i was enchanted by his charisma and his voice.
Especially when he sang "what a wonderful day"
So far, "Over You" is still the best~

花未全开, 月未圆。
Right now, it's Perfect.

"First thing in the morning tomorrow"

I'm not gonna jeopardise my exchange programme jus becuz i couldn't submit my application first thing in the morning. I've already troubled so many people to assist me in this application and the last thing they want to find out was how i squandered their effort.

Set my alarm at 6.45am. By 7.40, i'm out of my house. I've yet been up at 7.40 this whole semester. :D

Rushed down to uni and found that the doors are locked. Great, jus enough time for me to get the documents printed. Rushed down to the office and realised that they are still not open. As i was about to leave, i heard footsteps up the stairs. I passed her my stuff and left.

Done. for now.

angels and saviours at the 11th hour

Since last Wednesday, I have been sniggering at myself and the mess I’ve placed myself in.

I was pretty occupied with 2 assignments and exchange application. Along the way, there are many who offered a helping hand even if my request could be at the 11th hour.

for that, I'm really really grateful.

Today is the due date for my exchange application. But i was unable to meet my referee in time to get the necessary documents. So i went down to the exchange office and told the counter clerk. He asked "Why are you only doing it today?" with the very buay song attitude. I gave him an answer which i couldn't remember. Jus in the nick of time, my tutor called to save me from further humiliation. (yea. alright. it's jus pure coincidence). After putting down the phone, i went to the counter again, he said "well, there's nothing we can do if u cant submit by 5 but first thing in the morning tomorrow." i bet he rolled his eyes at some point of time. anyway, after thanking him, i hurried off to get my stuff printed.

After much trouble, the file was finally sent over. but the time was nearly 3pm. and it's impossible for me to rush down to his office by 3. i called him again and we settled on scanning the documents with the signature and i'll submit the scanned copy. Sounds feasible and easy. But i had a hard time getting the documents printed and scanned cuz the faculty refuse to provide me with a A4 sheet with the uni logo. and i cant ask from my tutor cuz he's not based in campus and he'll only be there on thursday. hence, I decided to look for my first referee.. but he wasn't around. >.<

In the end, i went to look for my lecturer who taught me 3 years ago. after listening to my explanation (i must say that i was speaking incoherently and short of breathe, it's 3 storeys up the stairs.. omg.. i'm weak), he said "this may help you" and he handed me some A4 paper with the uni letterhead. i remembered vividly that i went "OMG.. Thank you so much" >.<

After that i went over to meet J. at the printing store to get my stuff printed and scanned. it took some time but finally, it's done. I called my tutor and he said he'll be able to send it back to me ard 5pm.

when i din receive any email from him at 5.30, i smsed him. and he din reply. so i thought he had forgotten about me.

My tutor, is my saviour. He proved me wrong and i'm ashamed.

He sent me the documents within the time frame i requested. He must be thinking i'm such a demanding, no sense of time kinda girl and yet, he still did his best to help me.

at 6.30 i received my reference letter. he has missed out the other one so i smsed him.
at 10.00 pm, i received my application letter.
both signed.

2 out of 3 overdue submission.

By now, i should have learnt something.

I admit. I was wrong.
