可是,学坏三天,学好三年。谈何容易呀。。。
One thing that my father has greatly emphasized is to be aware of your own rights and stand up for it. That, he thinks, is what i lack and i wouldn't deny that. When faced with the same situation, some will demand to be treated right, while others will just walk away sulking. Needless to say, i'll fall into the second category. I need to be pushed into doing the right thing.
I have friends here who go all the way to stand up for their rights. And often, i'll just watch with awe. O.O and if they were in my position yesterday, they just might have done something different.
Sometimes, when i hear about poor services in Australia, i wonder is it because we're Asians or is it cuz they are just that horrible. hmmm.. o.O
Yesterday, D and i went to a sushi place near our uni to have a quick lunch. It was pretty crowded when we were there and the staffs were a bit disorganised. When i was making my order at the counter... and she asked "你可以讲中文吗?” after saying what i want, apparently, she didn't know the menu well enough although i was pointing to the big sign board behind. She had to get 2 other girls to get my order.
hmmm... okie.. that's a bit strange... u are in working there and u dun even know your menu and u cant speak english when u are in melb? even D found it quite strange. well.. u may think it's me.. but i said exactly the same thing to the 3rd person and she understood.
o well..
when the food finally came, i was quite surprised. Everyone else has theirs in a big bento box so i thought it'll be like those. But why was ours so small.... >.<>.<>
me: "eh.. how come so small ah"
D: " yeah lor.. usually is the big bento box. this is the takeaway one"
me: "huh? but we din order take away"
(imagine u are eating in a takeaway plastic container in restaurant. hmmm... hahaha.. and u know aussie here very niao one.. everything also charge... even for soy sauce for sushi, tomato ketchup, wasabi, jam, chilli sauce, tartar etc... so can u imagine how much lesser are they giving us...) plus... eating out in aussie is not cheap at all.. for pathetic quantity, i was paying nearly 10.50 sing dollar.. what's worse...
Apart from the size, i was also quite taken aback at the food. The rice, which filled half of the container, looks so dry as if it's yesterday's rice just taken out of the fridge~! Still, i gave it a go. the rice... was so hard and dry. i was quite fed up throughout the meal... and i was complaining to D
Me: "seriously, this is so hard and dry... must be some leftovers..."
D: "Yea... (ranting ranting)... Maybe they didnt' put enough water... "
Me: "huh?! cant be lar... look at the rice... it has the shape of the container lor. (den i use the spoon to scoop the rice and it was in one big chuck the shape of the container.) it looks like they left this in this container and put it in the fridge lor. Plus.. it doesn't make sense. Firstly, they are open for business... so they should know how to cook proper rice right. And HELLO... they are ASIANs they should know how to cook rice right... it's their staple"
D: " yea lor... (ranting ranting)... sigh"
Me: "wah.. i really wish my friend is here man.. den she'll complain.."
D: "haha.. but even if u complain i dun think they will do anything.. even if they give us another bowl but it's the same how... "
Me: "wah.. if like that they really cannot make it..."
D: " hahaha... yea.. it's really hard... i must chew on the rice more than on the chicken"
me: "hahahah.. yea.. it's horrible"
i tried to look ard to see if the ozzies have the same kind of shitty rice but none of them were having rice... >.<
many times, i wanted to confront them. it's not that i'm trying to be difficult but i jus wanna get a fair share of what i've paid for...
In the end, i walked away, feeling hungry, and sulking more than ever. I should have demanded another bowl of rice. hahaha... silly me...
